Caroline Mendyk, a senior at Buchanan High in California, took third in the girls varsity 5-kilometer race at the 49th Douglas P. Rudolf Cross Country Invitational in 18:02.06 at Mooney Grove Park in Visalia. Buchanan took the top three spots and placed four athletes in the top five.
